Thus for better performance, we have to be familiar with National and Internation Medical Laboratory Monitoring Institutions and Associations like ISO, NABL, ASM, IFCC, AQAS, AIMLTA, NAMLS, MELAN, etc.

Short Description

ISO

ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization and its headquarter is in Geneva, Switzerland, and works in more than 165 countries. It was founded on 23 February 1947 and develops and publishes worldwide technical, industrial, and commercial standards.

NABL

NABL stands for National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories. Its headquarter is in Gurgaon, India, and was founded in 1988 under the Department of Science and Technology.

ASM

ASM stands for American Society for Microbiology and it is the oldest and largest single life science membership organization in the world. CLSI guidelines are very useful for clinical microbiology practitioners. IFCC

The full form of IFCC is the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine. It is a worldwide organization serving clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine. It was established in 1952 and the contact office is at Via Carlo Farini 81 20159 Milano, Italy.

AQAS

AQAS stands for Agency for Quality Assurance through Accreditation of Study Programs. It is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to the accreditation of higher education institutions in Germany. It was established in 2002 and is located in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

AIMLTA

AIMLTA full name is All India Medical Laboratory Technologists Association is and it is a professional association and an “Apex Body” of Medical Laboratory Technologists of India which is working hard in the best interest of Medical Laboratories. It was established in 1981 and its registered office at

NAMLS

NAMLS stands for Nepal Association for Medical Laboratory Sciences and it was established in 2057 BS. It is accredited by the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) and the Asia Pacific Federation for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine.

MELAN

The full name of MELAN is Medical Laboratory Association of Nepal and it was established on 10 June 2006.
